Portrait of the counsellor

I'm Jane, a qualified counsellor here to support you.

I came to counselling after my own experience of navigating life's harder moments — and finding, with the right support, that things could genuinely change. That journey gave me a deep respect for the courage it takes to ask for help, and a lasting commitment to sitting alongside others as they find their own way through.

I am a BACP counsellor with a Diploma in Counselling, and I have several years of experience working with individuals across a wide range of concerns, from anxiety and low mood to grief, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.

When you work with me, you can expect a space that is unhurried, entirely non-judgmental, and genuinely collaborative. You set the pace; I'm here to walk with you.

My Approach

I work in an integrative way, drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities to meet each client where they are.

Rather than following a single fixed method, I draw from Person-Centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic approaches, and Mindfulness-based techniques. In plain terms: I don't apply the same formula to everyone. Instead, I listen carefully to what's happening for you and adapt my way of working to what will genuinely be most helpful, whether that means exploring patterns from the past, working with thoughts and behaviours in the present, or simply having a space to feel heard without judgment.

Above all, I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is what makes therapy work. I bring warmth, honesty, and deep respect for your autonomy into every session. Everything you share is confidential, there is no pressure to move faster than you're ready to, and you are always the expert on your own life. If you're curious about whether counselling could help, I'd love to hear from you.
